Hannah & Dan

A Very 'Marry' Christmas

Keep Scrolling Down...

OUR LOVE STORY

Like most great modern love stories, ours started over text. And like many modern heartbreaks, it almost ended in two ghostings — one by accident, the other saved by the Hump Day camel meme. (For the record, my ghosting and subsequent Hump Day meme were done completely obliviously. No intent to ghost, I just stopped texting for a few days. Hannah's attempted ghosting was intentional, but stopped by the ridiculous Hump Day camel. Just needed to get that out there. Love -Dan)

Our first date was at Cigar International and was once again almost dashed by Dan, this time by wearing his pink party polo (see below) and beat up Skechers. (To be fair, this was a comfort over fashion decision. -Dan (again)) After we both finished our cigars, neither of us wanted the date to end. We continued on to drinks, then dinner. Six hours later we called it a night. Dan invited Hannah to his weekly Friday night bonfire the next weekend.

Friday was too far away. By Tuesday we were hanging out again. By the next week we were doing dinner every night. A few weeks later Dan had moved Hannah's dogs into his house. With the dogs settled in, it didn't take long to convince Hannah to move in too.

Fast forward a few months, Hannah was offered the opportunity to move to Dallas for her job. Dan (and the dogs) followed. We've enjoyed building our life together in a fresh spot, experiencing all that Dallas has to offer.

For our birthdays in 2025 (Dan's is December 3rd, Hannah's the 4th) we planned a trip to Washington DC. DC holds a special place in both of our hearts — Hannah went to college at Georgetown and Dan was born there. The plan was touristy browsing and wandering: see the monuments, go to museums, explore Georgetown (eat at Il Canale — IYKYK. -Hannah). We got to DC on Friday afternoon and walked about 10 miles in the freezing drizzle. (I was determined to execute my plan! -Dan) Dan proposed in front of the Lincoln Memorial. (Thankfully Hannah said yes! -Dan) (Even though I had lost feeling in my fingers and toes. -Hannah) When we first started dating, Dan gave Hannah a lucky pink penny that she has kept with her ever since — so it only felt appropriate to get engaged in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

So now we're getting married in December, which means we're stuffing a wedding in with two birthdays and our engagement-turned-marriage anniversary all in one week. We figured we might as well embrace it — lots of Christmas lights, lots of chaos, one big celebration. We are so excited to share this with all of you as we kick off this next chapter of our lives.
